Jeeez… I’ve been dying to get me one of those Asus Eee PC 701 2GB laptop. You know why? REASON NO. 1: It’s the best and cheapest laptop around. Even Abe of Yugatech.com agrees and to quote his review, “The Asus Eee PC is the first sub-20k laptop to ever be commercially available in the Philippines. IMO, the price is a huge factor for its apparent popularity and overall performance is best bang for the buck.” Now, you can own an Asus Eee PC Laptop for only Php12,498 with PLDT’s Ultra Broadband Blowout PC Event. REASON NO. 2: The Asus Eee PC seems to be the perfect weapon of choice for bloggers on the go. Its built-in WiFi automatically detects and connects to the Internet at any hotspot. That means you can update your blog with new posts even if you’re out enjoying coffee at your favorite WiFi spot.
The biggest broadband and PC event brought to us by PLDT myDSL kicked off last May 30 at SM Mall of Asia and will continue its campaign at SM North Edsa Entertainment Plaza on June 13-15. You can catch it SM Megamall on June 27-29 and at SM Fairview on July 4-6. I’m pretty much excited to get my hands on an Asus Eee PC Laptop this coming weekend and (ehem) Pinoy Raket Online will be there to cover the 2nd leg of the event. Hopefully, I’ll get me a laptop by then.
The PLDT myDSL Ultra Broadband Blowout PC Event will promote the PLDT myDSL subscription bundled in any Desktop PC’s or Notebooks. For laptops or notebooks the following brands are available Acer, Apple, Asus, Compaq-HP, Fujitsu, MSI, NEO, Toshiba, and Ebox. And for the desktops computers there are HP, Samsung, Acer and Apple. You can also choose from the cheapest package for desktop PC from COMPLink with rock-bottom prices ranging from Php14K++ to Php19K++. When you avail a desktop or notebook you can get a FREE 6-12 months of PLDT myDSL subscriptions on selected models. The cheapest branded desktop PC is at Php9,998 and Php13,000 only. There will sure be a lot of choices but my eyes are set on that Asus Eee PC laptop. Let me know if you’re coming by to check out the event as I’ll be there on Sunday. Kimsan may I ask what OS is installed in your Asus laptop?
I’m a little hesitant to buy one with the Linux OS as I’ve not really familiar with it. Been using a Mac ever since.
Hi. I guess I’m too late in answering. Still– the OS is LINUX. Took me a few days to get used to it but I love it now. So nice and easy to use. The token word processor is Open Office.
Plus, I have the 4GB version. There’s an 8GB out now plus other brands that have started manufacturing cheap “notebook” sized laptops. You can get a 30GB one for 20k.
I’ve only heard good things about the Asus laptop. Did you actually get one???

I didn’t bought an Asus EEE PC I settled for an Acer Aspire 2715z.
I’ll make a post about it why I chose Acer over Asus.
