eraserheads concertThe hype built up on the coming Eraserheads reunion concert is spreading like wild fire in the Philippine blogosphere and in the Philippine media as well. I can’t blame us Pinoys with the rising anticipation of the biggest concert event in our country, Eraserheads is the only OPM band that mattered during the 90’s. Eraserhead’s music has sort of been the soundtrack of my life, I sang “Pare Ko” with all my heart when I first got my heart broken when I was 16, the song “Magasin” touched my sentiments in a unique way, “With a Smile” kept my spirits afloat when I’m depressed, while “Ang Huling El Bimbo” was an instant classic that captured the hearts of every Filipino. The list goes on and the influence that the Eraserheads made in our music industry cannot be overlooked.

So much for the teaser. LOL. Now the real question is where and how can we get a ticket for the Eraserheads Reunion Concert? Here’s some info I got from the Eraserheads mailing list from Villy Jay Villacorta, the husband of my cousin Xtina who guest posted the entry, The Rally Between “To Come Home” or “Not to Come Home” for the EraserHeads Reunion Concert. The said reunion concert will cost a whooping P10M for each Eraserheads member for a 45-minute set. Wow! It’s not surprising because Marlboro is sponsoring the event. Here’s the rest of the information:

Yes it’s true. It’s been in the works for several months na.

Marlboro is sponsoring this concert and paid each of the members a staggering

P10M each to do a full 45-minute set. This is the official announcement:

“No more blind items my dear friends. Yes. We are confirming it.

There is no point denying:

August 30, 2008 will be LEGENDARY!!!

The country’s most influential band ever will be reunited for ONE NIGHT ONLY.

This once in a lifetime experience will be staged at the CCP opengrounds.

Tickets are free and you can download it early August. Website to be announced.

ONE BRAND.

ONE BAND.

ONE NIGHT ONLY…

ERASERHEADS REUNION CONCERT!”

The tickets are free to download at the Marlboro website. There is no official press release yet if you can download tickets this early as the mailing list mentioned, “Tickets are free and you can download it early August”. But if you’re already itching to get your hands on the ticket, I guess you can signup now and be included in Marlboro’s “Red List”. Too bad you need to be 18 years old and older to join. You will also be asked to submit a scanned image of your valid ID to prove you are of legal age. After you’ve signed up the waiting period starts. My cousin and I will keep you posted on the recent developments of this event. So stay tuned.
