Manny PacquiaoOnce again, “People’s Champ” Manny Pacquiao brought honor and pride to our country by knocking out David Diaz to win the WBC lightweight title before a jampacked crowd at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Earlier in the fight, Pacquiao fought from the distance with lethal combinations of jabs and upper cuts. David Diaz, however, kept on the offense and defense as he continued to weather blows released by the Filipino bomber. While Diaz connected with punches to Pacquiao’s head and body, the Filipino fought on with two-fisted attacks.

On the fifth round, Manny Pacquiao kept David Diaz at bay with jabs followed by strong right hooks. Diaz, however, tried attacking Pacquiao with several hooks to the body. The Filipino shrugged the attacks, even raising his hands. Pacquiao battered the Mexican-American’s bloodied right eye and often attacked the body. Blood continued to gush from Diaz’s right eye.

On the eight round the obviously battered David Diaz continued to absorb blows from Manny. Pacquiao sent the battered David Diaz down the canvas with a left hook with 26 seconds remaining in the ninth round to seal off the win. Congratulations Manny Pacquiao! Pinoy Raket Online and the rest of the country is proud of you! Bring on Hatton next!
