We Pinoys are naturally happy people. In spite of the economic challenges that weigh down our country, we still manage to smile even at the worst times. That’s why in a past World Values Survey, our country ranked high in the “Most Happy People” in the world. There are no latest survey provided by WVS and the figures must have change because of our current economic situation but whenever I see the joy in our people’s faces particularly from the less privileged ones – it reminds me that money can’t buy you happiness and I don’t need a survey to prove that we Pinoys are in fact the “Most Happy People” in the world

For Filipinos, crab mentality describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase….“if i can’t have it, neither can you”. It’s a metaphor referring to crabs in a bucket in which, one of them struggles to get to the top but instead is being pulled down by other crabs that are also trying to get to the top.
Now, some may think crab mentality is normal as it implies healthy competition between people. Which is in fact, completely normal. But in more ways than one, it is more destructive than normal, especially if you unintentionally outdo another at the other’s expense. A sad reality it is, as it shows lack of unity among us Pinoys.
